The International Museum of Cartoon Art

The International Museum of Cartoon Art, the first museum in the world dedicated to the collection, exhibition, preservation and study of cartoon art, opened to the public on March 10, 1996, in Boca Raton. The museum houses the largest and most comprehensive collection of international cartoon art in the world, with over 160,000 works by more than 1,000 artists from 50 countries. Its holding encompasses all forms and genres of cartoon art, including comic strips, comic books, editorial cartoons, animation, caricature, magazine and book illustrations, graphic novels, sports cartoons and greeting cards.
The Morikami Museum

The Morikami Museum, created and built by George Sukeji Morikami, includes the original Yamato-kan (opened in 1977) and a major 32,000 square foot facility introduced in January of 1993. Morikami now includes an exhibition gallery housing world-class traveling exhibits and a permanent collection of Japanese artifacts. The Infotronic Gallery features state of the art touch-screen IBM computer systems with videos and photos about Japanese culture and society. Visitors may also sit in on classes and demonstrations of origami, bonsai, sumi-e ink painting, kite and toymaking, etc.
Cornell Museum

The Cornell Museum's rotating exhibits showcase local and national artists. The 1913 building, restored very close to its original appearance, features major regional exhibits of two and 3-dimensional works, and recently expanded to national traveling exhibits. It houses four full galleries, a formal tearoom and a unique gift shop. A collection of military miniatures on permanent loan to the museum is housed on the second floor. Thousands of soldiers and military replicas are beautifully displayed in 3-dimensional panoramas depicting the military history of the world.
Mizner Park

This beautiful Mediterranean outdoor mall features elegant specialty shops, restaurants, movie theaters, apartments and offices. In addition, the mall has a palm shaded central promenade with gazebos, benches and fountains. Mizner Park is also a cultural center with a music pavilion for concerts. Visitiors enjoy strolling the palm shaded plaza and shopping in the lively, trend-setting boutiques. A new addition to Mizner Park is the beautiful and upscale Jacobson's Department store.
