Taliesin West is set on the western slopes of the McDowell Mountains, northeast of Scottsdale, Arizona. The structures were built by Frank Lloyd Wright and the Taliesin Fellowship, beginning in 1937 and continuing to the present. They are the winter homes, studio, workshop and office of the over 70 architects, staff members and students associated with the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture and Taliesin Associated Architects. Taliesin West is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
El Pedregal

El Pedregal, which means "a place with many stones", is a true reflection of art in architecture. Styled after Old Morocco, El Pedregal is the only Festival Marketplace in the state. This festival marketplace beautifully exhibits our interpretation of the surrounding desert region; a place where the elements of shopping, dining and entertainment are creatively combined in a dynamic, colorful, festive theme. In the shadows of the 250-foot boulder formation, this Sonoran desert oasis features 14 desert blossom colors, a sub-Saharan tent structure, a massive watch tower, and a 36,000-square-foot inner courtyard amphitheater. The courtyard exterior features a variety of unique shops including art galleries, jewelry stores, and apparel boutiques.
